The aim of the children’s sport is to provide opportunities for involvement in physical activities, which produce immediate and long-term benefits.  These benefits are viewed in terms of active participation, higher levels of fitness, enjoyment, social development, health education and pupil satisfaction which come from skilled performance in individual and group activities.  Activities come from the Health and Physical Education National Statements and Profiles.

At Massada, we encourage participation at all levels.  Children are involved in Physical Education lessons covering areas of fitness, movement, game skills, dance and water activities. Professional clinics occur in specific sports – for example, football, soccer, badminton, T-ball, cricket and netball.

Children have the opportunity to be involved in Interschool Athletics, Cross Country and Swimming Carnivals.

The College’s facilities include a large oval, tennis court, basketball court, swimming pool as well as adventure playground equipment for the younger children.

An intensive two week block of swimming lessons is given by a qualified instructor in the College pool for each age group towards the end of each year.

Inside the classroom it is also important to teach children the message that good health and hygiene can benefit not only physical wellbeing but also emotional and mental wellbeing. Hygiene is also an important element in the observance of Judaism.

Massada College curriculum also informs students about the most contemporary concerns in the health of our society, providing information on for example, the dangers of over exposure to sun, the dangers of cigarette smoking, the benefits of a healthy diet and much more.
