Music at Massada College has several aspects, to give the students a wide opportunity to learn many different instruments and well as develop a love for singing, particularly with each other. Music is inclusive as a creative art form, but at Massada College, we generally give Music its own learning area with specialist teachers, as learning particular instruments generally require.

Our encouragement in Music allows students to receive a good grounding for follow-on music lessons in the local High Schools and Colleges, such as Marryatville High School, Glenunga International High School and Pembroke School, which all have important Music programmes.

At Massada College we focus on:

  • The singing of songs and the enjoyment of community singing.  This includes an introduction to and involvement in Jewish music, which draws its inspiration from singing in Temple.
  • Giving children opportunities to understand the various facets of music through active listening, games, dance, movement, use of percussion and having fun with music.
  • Involvement in choir and instrumental ensemble work.
  • Individual music tuition either after school or at convenient times during school hours.  Fees for such lessons are paid directly to the instructor.

Some instruments in our music room include:

  • Piano
  • Violin & other Strings
  • Recorder
  • Drums
  • Trumpet
  • Clarinet
  • Flute
